OCOLOY 2025: June
26 July 2025
Somehow, summer (or at least June and July) always seems to be the most stressful time of the year for me. There's always something to do, and most of the time more than I can do in one day. Therefore, the time I can invest in photography takes a hit, and also, there wasn't much time for processing photos or writing blog posts.
Admittedly, I also bought an Epson Perfection V850 Pro flatbed scanner to scan my film negatives myself. And that also took some time to get used to… I have now scanned everything I shot during the last year as negatives, and the next step is processing them using Darktable and the negadoctor module. A few tests yielded good results, and I'm looking forward to sharing some photos here.
August might be more relaxed, but I'm also on vacation for two weeks, which means that I don't know yet when I will get around to processing my July photos and writing the corresponding OCOLOY review blog post. Hopefully a bit sooner than this one.
However, back to June. As I've written in last month's review, I have already decided on a few side challenges for the summer months. For June, the theme was "Framed". I looked forward to it, and I still think that it's an intriguing composition technique that I should perhaps focus on again. However, since I didn't have many opportunities to photograph (except for a short family trip to Berlin), the ten favourites fulfil the topic only in a broader sense. Nevertheless, it was fun and I hope you'll enjoy the following photos as well!
Have a nice summer (hopefully with warmer weather than we currently have in southern Germany) and see you next month!
